Want to feel like a headless chicken running around when you’re trying to track your sales funnel? There’s one easy way to do that:

Organize your leads in different sources and lose your mind trying to find them.

That’s why tools like a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) helps you and your sales reps many sleepless nights by organizing them in a centralized location.

The obvious question here being, which one of the big names out there can you trust?

That’s exactly what I’ll tell you in this detailed Nutshell review.

And while it promises to streamline your sales process and foster business expansion, but does Nutshell live up to its words?

Let’s face it, you don't have five months to spend on research and testing like I did.

I went through hundreds of reviews from popular review sites like G2, Capterra, Gartner, and more.

All to answer everything from:

👉What exactly is Nutshell, and how’s it gonna help you?

👉Are there any additional features Nutshell offers?

👉What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Nutshell?

👉How much does Nutshell cost?

👉And finally, is there any good alternative to Nutshell?

Well, anyway, I won’t be wasting anymore of your time, so let’s just get to it!

What is Nutshell and What Does it Help With?

Nutshell is a CRM tool that facilitates the organization of conversations, leads, and contacts for teams.

One of its coolest features is the single sales pipeline, which you can customize to fit your team's workflow.

The pipeline boards and interactive lead maps make it simple to visualize your sales process and spot areas for improvement.

And with activity reminders, you (might) be on top of your game.

But first, let me walk you through on how to set up and also talk about the additional features Nutshell offers.

Then, I’ll talk about why I used the word “might”.

It’s really straightforward to start with Nutshell:

  • Create an account on the Nutshell website.
  • Create your team by extending invitations and defining roles.
  • Connect Nutshell to your calendar and email account.
  • Enter Nutshell with your contacts and leads.

Now that we have discussed the good and the excellent of Nutshell, let's jump onto its bad and ugly in the review.

What Are The Advantages of Using Nutshell?

After using the tool personally and going through multiple reviews, here are a few things that users and I loved and things that Nutshell excels in:

User-friendly interface and Simple to use

  • Nutshell's well-designed CRM system is easy to navigate through tasks and reminders.
  • Most search, reminder, and scheduling functions are straightforward to use and go beyond the basics.
  • The user-friendly interface and built-in CRM features are good.

Easy Contact and Pipeline Management

  • In Nutshell's consolidated database, you can search for every contact, client, and conversation.
  • Keep all of your team's contact information, call logs, and emails in one convenient area
  • Choose from four different ways to view and manage your pipelines: view options include list, map, chart, and board views.
  • Share filtered views with your team after saving them to keep everyone in the loop.

Insightful Reporting and Tracking:

  • While Nutshell has a reporting and tracking feature, most verified customers are dissatisfied with its capabilities.
  • Users can create custom reports and dashboards to visualize sales data and get a better understanding of key performance metrics.
  • Setting reminders and overall flexibility.
Nutshell custom dashboard

Good customer service:

  • Attentive post-sales support.
  • The primary reason many choose this platform.

What Are The Disadvantages of Using Nutshell?

While using Nutshell has its upsides, here’s what its customers and I found to be a huge downside of using Nutshell:

Lack of customization:

  • For beginner users, Nutshell CRM's extensive feature set may be too much to handle.

There’s a steep learning curve, and you're kinda left on your own.

  • Nutshell CRM is less customizable, so you might be unable to tailor it to your needs.
  • Users in the reviews have been unable to add custom fields or customize the layout of their dashboard.
  • That can be frustrating when trying to get your work done efficiently.

  • It might make it more difficult to remain effective and structured.

Lack of integrations:

  • Nutshell CRM does not have as many integrations as some competitors.
  • If you're looking for a CRM that can work with various other apps, Nutshell might not be the best choice.
  • It would help if it integrated it with other email marketing tools to extend its functionality.

Mobile application:

  • The mobile Nutshell app is not as functional as it could be.

Making an Informed Decision: My Final Thoughts on Nutshell Review

Nutshell is definitely a useful CRM tool, but mainly for smaller enterprises or teams.

As we've discussed, it does have its limitations, such as it’s

  • increasing pricing with increasing users,
  • integrations and customization limitations,
  • storage problems,
  • And restricted email prospecting.

So yeah, in the end, it comes down to you;

Go ahead with Nutshell if you’re a small organization and are looking for a CRM software with limited functionalities.

If you want a powerful lead generation tool that offers more personalization and automation, that integrates with most of the popular CRM tools out there, then SalesRobot is a good alternative.

See you in the next one!
